A one year fixed term opportunity at The Perse has arisen for a Teacher of Geography, from September 2026. We are looking to appoint a high achieving Geographer to join our energetic, supportive and collegiate Geography department, where the active sharing of ideas is the norm, ensuring the best teaching and learning occurs in lessons.
The teachers seek to engage pupils in learning Geography by encouraging them to work and think independently, and by ensuring our teaching is stimulating, varied and reflective of the unique contemporary nature of the subject. We strongly believe that fieldwork is an essential component of the subject and pupils have extensive opportunities to take part in fieldwork activities at The Perse, including both local visits and popular residential trips to the Jurassic Coast, Snowdonia and Iceland.
The successful candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for Geography and be well placed to generate and sustain a high degree of motivation in all pupils, who are mainly of high ability. Public exam results regularly place The Perse in the top 30 schools nationally and in a typical year over 30 pupils will receive Oxbridge offers.
The Perse enjoys a prestigious reputation and values a mixed approach to teaching and learning. We aim to respect tradition and innovation, industry and fun, and academic and personal growth. All teachers and pupils are required to demonstrate all‑round excellence and contribute to the academic, pastoral and extra‑curricular life of the school.
At The Perse School, we value the well‑being of all staff and offer a supportive environment that balances professional ambitions with personal growth, opportunity and work‑life balance.
