Overall purpose of the post: To assist the Rowing Coaches in the delivery of high quality coaching of pupils attending a summer sports camp.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of the School’s Summer Sports Camps / Academy’s.
  • Help prepare training plans and coordinate and run training sessions, adapting to the needs of groups or individual pupils as required.
  • Ensure that individual progress is monitored and recorded in the pupil’s individual Academy booklet, including identifying areas for further development.
  • Keep up to date with developments within your specific sport, produce innovative ideas and ensure that best practice is adopted.
  • Ensure the Health and Safety policy is implemented and that all equipment is checked and pupils are taught how to use it safely.
  • In consultation with the Course Manager / Head Coach, carry out and regularly review appropriate risk assessments.
  • Be a positive role model, creating a fun and safe environment within which pupils are motivated and encouraged to fully participate in the training sessions of the camp / academy.
