Oliver’s Bakery is a busy independent retail bakery with a strong local reputation, and we are looking for friendly, reliable and motivated people to join our team in Leighton Buzzard. This is a customer-facing role in a fast-paced bakery environment, so we are looking for people who enjoy working with the public, can work well under pressure, and take pride in maintaining high standards.
About the role
As a Shop Assistant, you will play an important part in the day-to-day running of the bakery. You will serve customers, help prepare and replenish products, maintain shop presentation, and support the team in delivering the friendly service Oliver’s Bakery is known for.
Main duties
- Serving customers and providing excellent customer service
- Operating the EPOS till system
- Stock rotation and replenishment
- Pricing and labelling products
- Maintaining shop presentation and standards
- Light baking-off of goods
- General cleaning duties
- End-of-day cashing up, where required
What we are looking for
- A positive, enthusiastic and reliable attitude
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a busy environment and meet deadlines

- Confidence with basic retail tasks and administration
- Flexibility to work Mon - Sat on a rota basis early morning shifts from 6am
