Role in The King's Trust, working directly with children and young people aged 11‑15 in Greater Manchester.
Responsibilities
- Deliver two 8‑week mentoring programmes during Spring and Summer 2026, providing approximately one hour of sessions each week in school.
- Support a consistent group of young people, building rapport and supervising activities such as communication, goal setting and problem‑solving.
- Maintain a record of each session, preparing and reviewing plans weekly.
- Attend at least six out of eight Mosaic sessions during each programme.
- Collaborate with a King's Trust Youth Development Lead for guidance and resources.
Commitment & Training
The role includes a mandatory 1‑day in‑person training at the Manchester King’s Trust Centre and up to three hours of online training. Volunteer time is approximately eight weeks, with one hour per week in school plus time for preparation.
Locations and dates (example):
- East Didsbury – 12 Jan to 9 Mar, 2:05–3:05 pm
- Crumpsall – 9 Mar to 11 May, 3–4 pm
- Wigan – 2 Mar to 11 May, 10–11 am
- Worsley – 11 May to 6 Jul, 3–4 pm
Programmes may be shortened during half‑term and Easter holidays.

- Effective communication, strong organisational skills and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
