Location

This role will ideally be based from our South London Centre. Candidates in Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol may be considered but must be prepared to travel to London on a regular basis.

Salary

£45,000 to £65,000, dependent on location, skills, knowledge and experience. This range includes London weighting which is not available for candidates outside of the area.

Overview

Do you want to design something truly transformative for young people across the UK? We're looking for a passionate, creative, and purpose‑driven Design Lead to shape and deliver a bold new mentoring initiative at The King’s Trust. In this pivotal role you’ll lead the design, pilot and launch of a suite of mentoring offers that will reach young people across the country, including in‑school experiences, digital micro‑mentoring and enhanced mentoring pathways.

Responsibilities

  • Develop user‑centred designs that are engaging, scalable, and impactful, ensuring they resonate with partners, funders, and communities across the UK.
  • Lead the design, pilot and launch of the mentoring initiative, working closely with delivery teams, young people, employers, and supporters.
  • Co‑create solutions that reflect real needs and ambition, drawing on insight, research, and creativity.
  • Set direction, drive delivery, and champion innovation across a complex and high‑profile programme.

Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in user‑centred design and a track record of delivering innovative approaches for young people.
  • Strong research and insight generation skills.
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills, with experience working with cross‑functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead from the front and influence stakeholders at all levels.
