Senior Chef
40 hours per week, all year round
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Chef to join our busy Catering Team at The King's School, Canterbury.
W orking closely with the Catering Manager and Executive Chef, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality catering services to pupils, staff and guests across the School. This is a hands-on role, combining food preparation and service with responsibility for supporting, supervising and motivating members of the kitchen team.
You will help ensure consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation, hygiene and cleanliness, as well as supporting menu development, stock control, ordering and the checking of deliveries. You will also ensure that food safety procedures, temperature controls, allergen requirements and associated records are maintained accurately.
We are looking for someone with significant experience of working as a chef in a busy professional catering environment, excellent practical cooking skills and a good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety requirements. You should be organised, reliable and able to remain calm under pressure, with the confidence to lead by example and support colleagues effectively.
