Required from September 2026, an inspirational and enthusiastic Teacher of Classics to join a large, supportive and thriving department. The applicant will have the opportunity of teaching Latin, Greek and Classical Civilisation to bright, motivated and interested students as part of a department that will help them develop their skills and experience.

The post will involve the teaching of both girls and boys across the Foundation. This position would be equally suitable for an entrant to the profession or for someone with the experience of other schools. The successful candidate will possess a good honours degree in Classics, or a related subject, demonstrate the ability to teach Latin and Classical Civilisation up to GCSE, with a willingness to progress to A Level teaching in due course, and display a desire to be involved in all aspects of departmental development and extracurricular activities. The ability to teach Classical Greek, whilst not essential, would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a full commitment to school improvement and will be fully computer literate: all teachers and pupils at Bolton School have an iPad to support and enhance their learning. Good communication skills, oral and written, are also essential.
