About the role The Press and Public Affairs Manager role is an opportunity to join our dynamic and fast-paced team working on issues at the top of the political agenda. The King’s Fund has a strong presence in the media, a respected voice in parliament, and extensive connections across the health and care sectors. With the nation’s health worsening, health and care services facing challenges on multiple fronts, and the government embarking on an extensive reform agenda as it implements its 10 Year Health Plan, we are looking for a Press and Public Affairs Manager to join our team for a year and help ensure our work has even more impact. The successful applicant will lead strategic communications, working with internal colleagues and external clients. The role will focus on working with journalists to secure high levels of media coverage for our work, regular parliamentary engagement including engaging with new health legislation, and close working with government and national stakeholders. We are seeking candidates with a proven track-record in delivering first-class media relations, the ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders, and the skills to analyse and articulate complex policy issues. In keeping with our current policy, the post-holder will be required to work a minimum of two days per week from our central London office (pro rata, averaged over a month).
