About the role
We’re looking for a welcoming, professional and approachable Receptionist to join The King’s Fund on a part-time, fixed-term basis. As part of our front-of-house team, you’ll help create a positive first impression for visitors, callers, delegates and colleagues by providing clear information, managing reception services and supporting the smooth running of the building. This is a varied evening role, ideal for someone with excellent customer service skills, confidence using IT and a calm, organised approach.
The role also requires flexibility to provide cover for colleagues on other shifts, for example during annual leave. This may involve working from 12.00pm to 9.00pm, for which overtime will be paid. Occasional Saturday working may also be required, with time off in lieu or overtime provided.
You will be friendly, efficient, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience of a similar role is an advantage.
Here at the Fund, we actively encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds, people from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBT+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge as we recognise that diversity makes us stronger.
In addition to a competitive salary, The King’s Fund offers generous holiday entitlements, a £3 daily discount in our café and an on-site gym.
You must have existing documented proof of your right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the contract.
Closing date for receipt of completed applications is Monday, 4 October at noon. Late applications will not be considered.
We regret that we cannot respond individually to all applicants due to the high number of applications we receive. If you have not been contacted within three weeks of the closing date, please assume that you have not been shortlisted for interview. Please note that we are unable to offer feedback to applicants who are not shortlisted for interview.
Interviews will be held on 8 October or week commencing 11 October , but the panel can be flexible for a particularly strong candidate. The role is available to start as soon as possible thereafter.
The King’s Fund is committed to equal opportunities in all its activities, and appointments will be determined solely on merit. Applications are welcomed from all sections of the community, including those from minority ethnic groups and those with disabilities.
