We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative educator with the versatility and expertise to deliver all aspects of the Science curriculum across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5, to join the school on our journey of continuous improvement. The King’s Academy is a fantastic place to work if you want to make a positive impact on students’ life chances. We focus not only on student wellbeing but also staff wellbeing.
We are clear that in order to serve our students well, staff need to feel valued and supported and to focus their time and energies on what they do best – teach! To that end we have ensured that, over time, we have minimised the impact of bureaucracy on a teacher’s working day; we have moved from performance management to a professional growth model where the key difference is working with staff to help them improve their classroom practice rather than ‘doing to’ staff; we collect only essential data in order to understand student progress; we have a calm and orderly school because we have a simple and clearly understood approach to ensuring high standards of behaviour; we consult regularly with staff on any changes that will impact on their workload and we invest heavily in the professional development of colleagues.
We also take care of some of the more practical benefits such as our electric car salary sacrifice scheme, discounted gym membership, and our car valeting service. The collective end result of these measures, and more, is a community of teachers who remain bright eyed in the classroom and who want to stay working at The King’s.
You will undoubtedly remember a teacher who inspired you, who made you enjoy their subject and you look back on that teacher with positive thoughts and memories. Our mission is to deliver ‘learning experiences that last a lifetime’ and we ask that teachers who work at The King’s endeavour, each and every day, to be that memorable teacher for our students.
So, if you are an energetic and enthusiastic practitioner who is innovative, can work on your own initiative and lead by example, with a passion for your subject and to see students make ‘outstanding steps of progress’, then we would love to hear from you.
We strongly encourage all candidates to take the opportunity of visiting the academy prior to submitting an application. To arrange a visit, or for further information, please in the first instance, contact Mrs M Prince, Senior Business Manager. This position is suitable for ECTs (Early Career Teachers).
As a Church of England school with a strong Christian ethos, the Governors particularly welcome applications from candidates who are practising Christians. We will review applications upon receipt. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and we reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.
Three Spires Trust and its academies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks, including: an enhanced DBS; Prohibition check; Section 128 direction check; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness; identity and right to work. All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references.
