Are you an experienced and passionate primary or secondary teacher looking for a setting where you can truly connect with students and break down barriers to learning?

King's Academy Lord Wilson is an expanding specialist secondary school for boys with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

We are transforming lives through high academic ambition and a supportive, close-knit team.

This year we anticipate our best ever results for Year 11 and strive to provide qualifications and experiences to thrive beyond Year 11.

We offer a small, nurturing environment with opportunities to develop and deliver progressive subjects in our newly renovated facilities, including Health & Fitness and Esports.

We welcome experienced primary practitioners who can bring their pedagogical approaches into our primary-style classrooms and create engaging, accessible learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Reconnect with your passion for teaching in a small, nurturing environment and meet the complex needs of each pupil.
  • Contribute to developing and delivering progressive subjects in our facilities (e. g., Health & Fitness, Esports).
  • Be part of supporting pupils’ growth, celebrating successes and overcoming challenges together.
  • Be an integral part of students’ pathways to post-16 opportunities, both on and off site.
  • Collaborate with a team to challenge traditional approaches and contribute to ambitious academic outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing professional development through training and reflective practice, with support from colleagues who have SEMH expertise and NPQ qualifications in Teaching & Learning and Supporting Behaviour.
  • Deliver across Year 7 and 8 provision as part of the primary-style classroom experience where applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience or strong interest in supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • A driving license is preferable as we often transport pupils to additional curriculum activities.
