The King Edmund School is looking to appoint a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team and play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across our secondary school.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain focused, engaged and on task with the work set by their teachers. You will help maintain a positive learning environment, promote good behaviour and ensure that learning continues with minimal disruption.
This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to work across different subjects and year groups, build positive relationships with students and gain valuable experience in a busy secondary school environment.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage and motivate young people.
- Can manage classroom behaviour calmly, fairly and consistently.
- Is organised, adaptable and able to use their initiative.
- Can follow lesson instructions and ensure students complete the work provided.
- Has a positive, professional approach and a genuine interest in supporting young people.
- Works well as part of a team and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
