Responsibilities:

  • Create clear learning objectives and lesson structures that maintain a high pace, motivation, and challenge for all students.
  • Establish a safe, purposeful, and welcoming environment where students feel secure and confident.
  • Maintain high standards of student behaviour and discipline through positive relationships and well-focused teaching.
  • Mark and monitor students' work and set targets for progress in line with the learning and teaching and assessment policies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for a tutor group, providing academic monitoring, guidance, and pastoral welfare while liaising with parents and external agencies.

Qualifications:

  • A demonstrable passion for your subject and the ability to teach across various ages and abilities (Key Stage 3 and 4).
  • Capability of deploying a range of teaching styles and maintaining a purposeful classroom atmosphere.
  • The ability to be organised and efficient, particularly in regards to lesson preparation, students assessment and record keeping.
  • A thorough understanding of and commitment to safeguarding procedures.

About the School:

The King Alfred School is currently part of The Priory Learning Trust, a group of like-minded schools whose shared ambition is to provide a great education for every child. From September, we will be part of the newly formed Pathway Trust, which will comprise seven secondary and thirteen primary schools across Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
