In this vital role, you will step into the classroom to lead, supervise, and support whole classes of secondary school students when their regular teacher is absent. You will ensure that learning never stops, maintaining a positive, structured, and constructive environment for our pupils.
Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students stay on track with pre-set work.
- Answer student queries, manage classroom behavior in line with school policies, and provide a welcoming environment for learning.
- Assist with general pupil supervision during lunch breaks, invigilate exams, and support teachers directly in the classroom or during "Return to Learn" interventions.
Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade A-C / Level 2) or equivalent.
- Competent IT skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle challenging or emotive situations with professionalism and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people across and outside the school.
