Job Summary
You will be part of a team that provides person-centred high standard of care to help residents retain personal dignity and individuality. Duties involve assisting residents in all aspects of daily living which includes helping residents who need assistance with washing, dressing and undressing. For residents who have limited mobility, making the best use of aids provided and assisting in the promotion of continence. Maintaining daily electronic records is an important aspect of the role.
You will have a genuine interest in working within a caring environment, possess good communication skills and be a good team player. You will hold an SVQ2 or above qualification. A clear security check from PVG Scotland and two satisfactory references are essential.
We are currently looking for Bank Staff to replace long serving colleagues that have now retired or are approaching completion of their Nursing Qualification and will be moving on. Our working patterns are as below please indicate your preference or availability on application and indication of available hours:
Day Shift (8am to 8pm)
Night Shift (8pm to 8am)
Care Assistant rate £14.61 per hour
Senior Carer rate £15.79 per hour
Responsibilities & Duties include: –
· Report on residents’ general condition & wellbeing.
· Maintain electronic records & care plans for each individual resident (Training provided)
· Assist residents in maintaining personal hygiene & dressing/undressing.
· Provide care for all residents through the delivery of individual planned care programmes.
· Assist residents with limited mobility making the best use of aids provided.
· Assist with engagement of residents in our social activities calendar and helping & encouraging continuity of hobbies and daily exercise.
· Assist residents to bed when they choose to retire.
· Effectively communicate with residents.
· Respond to the residents call system, giving assistance as required.
· Follow approved hand-over procedures at the start/end of each duty session.
· Attend/participate in training sessions (including online training) as required.
Qualifications & Skills
· SVQ2 qualification or above / Senior Carer SVQ3 or above
· Good team player / Senior Carer previous experience leading a care team
· Previous experience in working with older people is preferred.
· Hourly rate from £14.61, with rolled up holiday pay addition at 12.07%
· Home cooked meals whilst on duty
