The Kids Network is a community of children and adults connecting through fun, curiosity and friendship for positive social change. We believe every child deserves the right to a happy childhood and a positive future. We support children aged 8-11 who could benefit from help, guidance and attention from a trusted adult. We support children at a key point in their lives as they prepare for transition from primary to secondary school by pairing them with a mentor from their local community who can help develop the confidence and resilience they need for a positive future.
Our long term impact evaluation report, Connecting for Change, proves that our programme is not simply supportive, but preventative, at a crucial time in childhood. Our vision is clear: every child gets to live the life they choose. We’ve set ourselves ambitious strategic goals to guide our work and bring our programme to more children in more places than ever before.
We are hoping to appoint a number of trustees. We can always use people with legal, HR, fundraising, financial, children’s service or PR backgrounds. In addition we are specifically looking for someone to chair our Resource Committee. Crucially you must be passionate about connecting for change, share our vision of positive futures for children and believe that you can help us bring our amazing work to more children.
The Kids Network values fun, integrity, curiosity, diversity, and connection. If you are passionate about connecting for change and share our vision, we want to hear from you.
If you’re interested in supporting our life-changing work by being part of our board, do get in touch, we’d love to hear from you. Please read the accompanying letter from our Chair and have a look at the role description.
To apply, you will need to send us a CV and a short covering letter via the link in this advert, telling us how you are suitable for this role. The closing date for this round of applications is Sunday 29th November at midnight. We are planning to hold interviews in the week of the 7th December.
