About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join the IG Masonry Support Systems team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machinery to accurately bend and form sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. The role requires a strong focus on quality, precision, and productivity, while ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with manufacturing procedures and health and safety standards.

What you’ll be doing

  • Set up and operate the press brake machines according to technical specifications and sop & work instructions.
  • Install and align tooling, punches, and dies correctly.
  • Perform test runs/first off for setup accuracy & quality checks.
  • Operate the press brake to bend, form, and shape the parts to precise drawing tolerances.
  • Measure finished parts using Vernier callipers, protractors, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Safely operate a forklift truck to transport parts within the production area.
  • Conduct pre-use checks on the press brake
  • Adhere to all safety instructions/health and safety regulations.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Understanding of sheet metal types, bend allowances, and material behavior.
  • Competent with measuring and inspection tools.
  • Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely.
  • Understanding of quality control and safety procedures.

  • Proficient & strong knowledge in the set-up/operating a press brake machine.
  • Attention to detail in both machine operation and material handling.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret bend deductions, tolerances, and material specs.
