Kent (Hybrid) based in Medway Kent Autistic Trust supports over 110 autistic people with complex needs in Kent and Medway and delivers good and outstanding specialist services. We have an award‑winning PBS team and an Operational Manager and team overseeing registered managers.

We are now seeking a senior operational leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Head of Care and Compliance. This is a leadership role rooted in positive management and culture. We are looking for someone who can lead through others, champion the rights, dignity and voice of autistic adults, and create the conditions for services to be Well‑Led, rights‑based and ambitious for ‘Outstanding’.

As the Trust’s Nominated Individual, you will hold statutory accountability for quality, safeguarding, compliance and care governance across a complex, multisite organisation. Day‑to‑day service delivery is led by operational and Registered Manager teams; your role is to set standards, support and challenge leaders, exercise professional judgement and provide organisational assurance.

You will work closely with managers to build confidence and capability, embed learning from risk and safeguarding, and ensure that quality is driven by good leadership and strong management, not compliance alone. Inspection readiness is achieved through consistently good practice, not inspection‑led behaviour.

We are seeking a values‑led, credible senior leader with substantial experience in CQC‑regulated adult social care, who believes that achieving Outstanding is about people, rights, leadership and culture, and who can operate calmly and authoritatively at organisational level.
