PART-TIME GARDENER GROW WITH PURPOSE!
LOCATION: The Kent Autistic Trust\’s Allotment Plot in Woodlands Road Allotment, Gillingham
HOURS: 10-16 hours/week (2-3 days)
RATE: £16/hour (includes holiday pay)
CONTRACT: Casual

We\’re looking for a dedicated PART-TIME GARDENER to lead the care and cultivation of our beautiful allotment at Woodlands Road. This role is about more than gardening; it\’s about creating a calm, inclusive space where autistic individuals from our services and the wider community can connect, grow, and thrive.
What You\’ll Do
- Maintain the allotment to a high standard: planting, weeding, watering, composting, and general upkeep
- Plan and manage seasonal gardening tasks
- Create a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for volunteers and participants
- Support autistic individuals with empathy and patience
- Coordinate activities with staff and community members
- Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and stored properly
Who You Are
- A skilled gardener with hands-on experience and strong horticultural knowledge
- Organised, proactive, and able to plan and prioritise tasks independently
- A great communicator with a warm, supportive attitude
- Experienced in (or open to learning about) supporting autistic individuals
- Possibly retired or semi-retired, looking for a meaningful way to give back
