(Y)Our Opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated Pastoral Lead who brings energy, heart, and purpose to our team at Kemnal, someone ready to champion our most vulnerable learners every single day.
In our Trust, a Pastoral Lead is far more than a point of contact; you are a key architect in helping children feel safe, regulated and ready to learn. You will deliver targeted emotional literacy and SEMH support through one-to-one and small-group interventions, act as the first point of contact for pastoral concerns, support pupils through transition, work closely with parents/carers and external agencies, and act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Whether you have years of experience working with children in an educational, social care or youth setting, or hold an ELSA, TA or SEMH qualification, your talent will be valued here. In our community, pastoral colleagues are vital partners in driving educational standards and fostering a strong sense of belonging.
Together, let's unlock potential, and ensure every child gets their chance to shine.
The ideal Pastoral Lead will be someone who:
- Has at least 2–3 years of experience working with children in an educational, social care or youth setting.
- Has experience of managing challenging behaviour and supporting children with complex emotional needs, including SEN, behavioural and mental health needs.
- Delivers interventions and mentoring support, and builds strong, non-judgemental relationships with vulnerable families and hard-to-reach parents.
- Has a working knowledge of child protection and safeguarding, and is ready to act as a Deputy DSL.
- Works effectively with external agencies and communicates clearly with a wide range of people.
-Stays calm and regulated in challenging situations, is compassionate while remaining professional, and understands professional boundaries.
- Has a passion to inspire our most vulnerable learners and a belief that, through their actions, they can change lives.
Please note this vacancy will close at midday on 16/10/2026
