(Y)Our Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Maths who brings energy, heart, and purpose to our team at Thomas Bennett Community College, someone ready to inspire and empower our pupils every single day.

In our Trust, a teacher is far more than an instructor in the classroom; you are a key architect in building a child’s confidence, mathematical fluency, independence, and agency. We are seeking an empathetic, proactive educator who can break down barriers to learning, deliver high-quality teaching, and create a stimulating environment where curiosity, questioning, and exploration are actively encouraged.

Whether you are an experienced teacher looking for your next challenge or an ambitious practitioner looking to develop your career, your talent and vision will be valued here. In our community, teaching staff are vital partners in driving educational standards and fostering a strong sense of belonging.

Together, let’s unlock potential, inspire a joy for mathematics, and ensure every child gets their chance to shine.

We are looking for an inspiring Maths Teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • Demonstrates evidence of excellent classroom teaching with strong subject and curriculum knowledge.
  • Plans and delivers well-structured, engaging lessons that sustain curiosity and momentum, preparing pupils effectively for external assessments.
  • Accurately assesses, monitors, and responds to the strengths and needs of pupils, adapting teaching to support all learners—including those with SEND and EAL.
  • Builds warm, respectful relationships with pupils and maintains high standards of behavior using positive classroom management strategies.
  • Works collaboratively with departmental colleagues, support staff, and school leadership to drive continuous improvement and curriculum development.
  • Is open, receptive to professional coaching, and committed to their own continuous professional development.
  • Resolutely upholds statutory safeguarding responsibilities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
