My client is a leader in high specification architectural glazing and partitioning. The company is one of the most well-established brands in the UK covering the length and breadth of the country, delivering the highest quality supply and install service to blue-chip clients. They are now seeking an Intermediate Level QS to join the commercial team covering projects typically up to £1.5m across London & the South East. This role would suit those with an inquiring and problem-solving mind, who can act on their own initiative and are self-motivated with a competitive drive to get tasks completed.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of project budgets
  • Checking projects Contracts
  • Administering projects Contracts
  • Measurement of project to check quantities against tender allowances
  • Preparation of tender documents for any sub-contract works and specialist suppliers
  • Set budgets for, and raise payments, for subcontract labour
  • Manage variations as they occur
  • Producing fortnightly cost reports to our Clients
  • Ensure an awareness of our key responsibilities under the contract
  • Ensure regular agreement of site instructions with the client
  • Ensure payments are received on time in accordance with the contractual payment terms
  • Ensure retention monies are released when due
  • Prepare and discuss the final account for projects
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts with parameters set by Line Manager
  • Prepare monthly Cost Value Reports

Skills & Essentials

  • Working knowledge of JCT suite of contracts with and without Design Portion, D&B, and Fixed Price and any NEC form of contracts
  • Working within the Fit Out industry as a specialist contractor
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Union Square (Preferable)
  • 3 years working experience as a quantity surveyor at intermediate level
  • Head Office based between 3 to 5 days a week
