The Teaching Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, loving, Christ-centered classroom environment where preschool children can grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. This role helps bring interactive, hands-on, and engaging lessons to life by actively participating in classroom instruction, centers, routines, and child support throughout the day. The Teaching Assistant works closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure children experience a joyful, play-based learning environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and a love for Jesus and learning.
Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Love for young children and early childhood education
- Ability to support interactive, creative, and engaging classroom experiences
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and interacting on the floor with children
- Patient, nurturing, and energetic personality
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Must support the mission and values of the church preschool
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Background check required
