We're on the hunt for a Product Manager to join us at our HQ in Bristol. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a small, independent, and family-run food brand — playing a key role in delivering various product projects across our growing range. As we continue to expand, we're looking for someone who's organised, detail driven, and great at keeping plates spinning — someone who thrives on coordinating people and projects, and is passionate about making things happen in a fast-paced, food obsessed environment.
The Role: You'll be the quality champion for all things product at The Jolly Hog — making sure every product we deliver to our customers hits the mark, every time. From managing new product launches to working alongside and coordinating various stakeholders, you'll keep projects on track, specs up to date, and quality at the forefront of all that we do. Your sharp eye and clear communication will make you the go to person for everything product related.
What You’ll Do:
- Keep a close eye on product quality with regular panels
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to carry out regular audits at different sites across the country (there will be travel involved in this role)
- Project manage all NPD and EPD critical paths through to launch, using great communication to make sure everyone's kept in the loop and deadlines are met on time
- Maintain up to-date product specs and QAS docs
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with production and technical teams across all sites
- Review packaging every quarter to help us hit our sustainability goals
- Monitor customer complaints and lead product improvements where needed
- Ensure we are keeping up to date with all legislation (Natasha's Law, HFSS, etc.)
- Support with forecasting, MOQ planning and coordinating launch plans
- Act as the main point of contact for product related queries from all internal and external stakeholders
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in an FMCG product role, ideally within chilled or food categories
- Experienced in the product development process and quality assurance – ideally you know your way around food production
- A very keen eye for detail and quality
- Strong project management skills – you're organised, proactive and have the ability to juggle various different stakeholders
- A natural problem solver who's happy managing multiple projects and timelines at once
- Confident communicator who can collaborate across different departments and build solid supplier relationships
- Ideally you will have an understanding of working with retailers, including their processes, expectations, and know how to navigate challenges that can come with the world of product
- Passionate about sustainability and making a difference
Important things to note! We are not about being second best. We want someone with that same passion for and commitment to excellence. We're in the office Monday to Thursday, with Fridays as a work-from-home day. As a small and collaborative team, being in together during the week helps us bounce ideas around, make quick decisions, and keep the creative energy flowing. This role will involve being on the road at different locations across the country, typically, a day or two a week. We are a small, family run business. We don't do politics!
This is a rare opportunity to join a rapidly expanding business, with big plans for the future. The person in this role will be fundamental to our growth plans. You must be a self-starter. You will have the support of a fantastic HQ team, but as we are such a small team you will need to be comfortable working independently from the get-go.
Perks of working with The Jolly Hog:
- Competitive salary in line with your experience
- Enhanced maternity/paternity
- Annual training budget per person
- Budget dedicated to staff development & training
- Private Medical Insurance
- Life Insurance
