Are you an experienced foodservice pro whoâs ready to grab a growing channel and make it your own? Do you love building something from the ground up â and want to do it with a brand that takes quality very seriously?
Weâre The Jolly Hog â a familyârun food business with a passion for doing things the right way. Weâre already on shelves in the UKâs biggest supermarkets, running a restaurant (Pigsty), and cooking up a storm at events like Glastonbury, Goodwood, and Winter Wonderland.
Now weâre building our Foodservice & Out of Home channel into a major part of our business â and weâre looking for someone driven to help lead that growth.
This is a rare opportunity to join a fastâgrowing B Corp brand thatâs scaling fast, staying true to its values, and still having lots of fun along the way.
đ The Role: Foodservice & OOH Channel Controller
This is a handsâon commercial role where youâll take ownership of our growing Foodservice and Out of Home (OOH) channel.
Youâll lead the development of our customer base across pubs, restaurants, wholesalers, contract caterers, foodâtoâgo and events â identifying the right partners, building strong relationships and making sure our products land in the right places, with the right support.
With listings already secured in Brakes, Bidfood and other key routes to market, weâve laid the foundations â now weâre looking for someone to build on that momentum and drive the next phase of growth.
đ· About The Jolly Hog
Once upon a time, there were three brothers ⊠a rugby player, a shipâbroker and a cabinetâmaker. After a heated debate about the perfect pork sausage, we decided to settle it by making our own.
Fast forward to 2025, and The Jolly Hog is now a proudly independent, familyârun food brand producing higherâwelfare, awardâwinning pork products, stocked in Tesco, Sainsburyâs, Asda, Waitrose, Ocado, Morrisons, Coâop and Gousto. We run a restaurant (Pigsty), operate mobile catering at Glastonbury, Goodwood and Winter Wonderland, and â crucially â weâre growing fast in foodservice and out of home.
In 2022, we became B Corp certified â putting people and planet at the heart of our decisions. Our team are all involved in making us a better business, and weâre always up for doing things differently.
Now, weâre looking for someone to take ownership of our Foodservice and Out of Home (OOH) channel â a strategic, but handsâon role in a fastâmoving business with big plans.
Responsibilities
- Identify, target and win new business opportunities across contract catering, QSR, casual dining, wholesale, travel, events, pubs and more
- Manage and grow key national accounts â becoming the senior point of contact for negotiations, JBPs and longâterm partnerships
- Develop tailored proposals and pitch decks that bring The Jolly Hog story and product range to life for foodservice operators
- Work crossâfunctionally with Marketing, Product and Supply Chain to ensure commercial success and great customer experiences
- Attend industry events, trade shows and customer meetings to build pipeline and relationships
- Stay close to market trends and competitor activity to keep us ahead of the game
- Drive forecasting, performance tracking and budget ownership for the channel
- Help shape NPD and channelâspecific formats based on customer needs
- Act as the voice of foodservice & OOH within the business â championing the channel at a senior level
- Once youâve hit the ground running, weâd like you to be involved in helping us grow the team â including playing a role in hiring the next person into the Foodservice channel
Qualifications
- 5+ years in foodservice or OOH sales â ideally in an FMCG, challenger or premium food brand. This is a must for the role due to the nuanced world of Foodservice & OOH
- Excellent at spotting opportunities and securing new business â from pubs and venues to contract catering and beyond
- A topânotch salesperson. Youâll be getting out and pitching to various businesses so you must have a great flair for sales
- Confident in negotiating, presenting and owning the sales process from pitch to delivery
- Strong commercial experience managing national foodservice and/or wholesale accounts
- Entrepreneurial mindset â comfortable building something, not just maintaining it
- A passion for great food and making a difference
