We have an exciting opportunity for a Relief Nursery Practitioner to join our team. You will be an enthusiastic practitioner who has a passion to nurture happy children and a strong drive to promote excellent childcare.

About Joint Colleges Nursery

Joint Colleges Nursery is a small independent nursery situated in a quiet, tree‑lined residential area in the heart of Cambridge, within close walking distance from Cambridge City Centre and the train station. Our staff describe JCN as a wonderful and rewarding place of work. Registered for 57 children aged 0‑5, most attending full time, we create a stable environment where children and staff build quality relationships.

Working Hours

Hours of work will be between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, 7.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday. Hours are flexible to suit circumstances; availability year‑round is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality childcare in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Support children’s development, maintain a safe and nurturing environment, collaborate with team members, and contribute to daily routines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Hold a full and relevant NVQ Level 2 or 3 in childcare or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Experience working with children in a childcare setting. Applicants currently working towards their qualification are welcome; training and support will be provided.

Successful candidates must provide right‑to‑work documentation, undergo an enhanced DBS check, and provide two satisfactory references before commencing employment.
