We are a large mixed secondary school which joined the United Learning group of schools in September 2019 and, supported by the expertise and guidance that has brought us, are rapidly improving outcomes for students. Support staff who are working directly with students and are without A-Levels, a degree or a relevant Level 3 for the role; will be required to enrol on the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship once appointed. We will support you to gain this qualification as part of our commitment to staff development and improving student outcomes.

The Role:

  • Work within the Academy as part of a team, under the general direction of the Principal who will be responsible for the overall policy of the educational programme and for matters of control and discipline within the Academy.
  • Undertake activities with either individuals or groups of children to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical, emotional, and educational development.
  • Work to establish a supportive relationship with the children and parents concerned.
  • Encourage acceptance and inclusion of children with special educational needs, with a particular focus on students with Autism.
  • Promote and help build students' self-esteem.
