We have a fantastic opportunity for a Facilities Multiskilled Operative to join our Facilities team at Cheltenham Racecourse to provide general maintenance supporting the operational set up of the site for event days.

The Facilities Multiskilled Operativewill
- Produce high quality reactive maintenance and repair work ensuring high standards of customer care and satisfaction, in a safe and successful working environment.
- Ensure compliance with HSE Guidance (ACOP L8), by carrying out and supporting daily, weekly, and monthly health, safety, and compliance checks.
- Carry out general routine reactive maintenance around the Racecourse and associated sites including decorating, paving, plumbing, glazing, carpentry, plastering and fencing.
- Continuously monitor the Racecourse facilities, highlighting areas that require maintenance repairs and improvements.
- Alongside the team conduct regular fire alarm tests, ensure Fire Extinguishers are in date and all doors are compliant with regulations recording any defects and remedial actions.
- Conduct weekly flushing of water outlets and monthly water temperature checks, updating all records.
- Support the operational support and delivery of race days to ensure all tasks, pre and post racing are completed.
About you
- Proven track record in general facilities maintenance or similar operational roles.
- Familiarity with health and safety protocols in a workplace setting.
- Skilled in using tools and equipment relevant to maintenance tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills for on-the-spot fixes and urgent repairs.
- Ability to liaise effectively with external contractors and suppliers.
- Proactive approach to workplace taking initiative to delivering high quality work.
- Thrives as being part of a team collaborating effectively to achieve shared goals.
- Excellent communicator with commitment to delivering high quality work.
- Computer savvy with outstanding attention to detail.
- Passionate about developing existing skills and acquiring new ones.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
