Based at: Exeter Racecourse

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 20 hours per week – (4 hrs a day to include evenings & occasional weekends)

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Cleaner to work with the Operations Manager and have responsibility for the cleaning and maintenance of all areas of the racecourse before and after racing and conferences ensuring that they are ready for the next day’s events and ensuring a high standard of customer care and a successful working environment.

The Cleaner will:

  • Clean and maintain all areas of the racecourse including public areas, hospitality areas, toilets and washrooms, offices and event spaces.
  • Ensure that event spaces are clean, safe and presentable ahead of race days and Conference & Events bookings.
  • Support in the breakdown after events, clean used areas and return facilities to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Monitor and control stock of all cleaning supplies and report replenishment needs with the team.
  • Report faults and defects in a timely manner.
  • Comply with Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices and ensure waste is disposed of properly and recycling protocols are followed.
  • Be responsible for unlocking and closing of the racecourse when necessary, ensuring all areas are secure.

About you

  • Previous cleaning experience at a similar sized venue with knowledge of basic cleaning methods, products & equipment.
  • Ability to follow cleaning schedules and checklists, work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Able to work unsociable hours around race days and event bookings, (weekdays, evenings and occasional weekends).
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
