About the role
We have an opportunity for an Event Manager to join our London Hub team, helping to deliver an outstanding programme of racing, concerts, exhibitions and commercial events across Epsom Downs, Kempton Park and Sandown Park Racecourses. Working alongside the Senior Event Manager, you’ll take the operational lead for allocated events, ensuring they are delivered safely, professionally and to the highest standard while creating exceptional experiences for our customers. With around 100 racing fixtures each year, alongside a busy calendar of non-racing events, you’ll be at the heart of some of The Jockey Club’s biggest occasions.

The Event Managerwill
- Support the Senior Event Manager in planning and delivering racing and non-racing events across the London Hub.
- Take operational ownership of allocated events, from initial planning through to delivery and post-event review.
- Produce event plans, schedules, venue layouts and risk assessments, ensuring everything is safe, compliant and ready to go.
- Coordinate operational requirements across teams, suppliers and contractors, keeping lots of moving parts on track.
- Help deliver around 100 race fixtures each year, including some of The Jockey Club’s major racedays and festivals.
- Lead the operational delivery of commercial events, including exhibitions, concerts, conferences, dinners and hospitality events.
- Work closely with teams across Sales, Marketing, Grounds, Facilities, Security and Jockey Club Experiences to deliver a joined-up experience.
- Coordinate key event services including security, stewarding, first aid, traffic management, parking, cleaning and portering.
- Work flexibly across Epsom Downs, Kempton Park and Sandown Park, ensuring our venues are safe, well-presented and deliver a great experience for our customers.
About you
- Experience of delivering events within a venue, sporting, leisure or visitor attraction environment.
- Strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- A confident, hands-on approach, comfortable taking responsibility and dealing with issues as they arise.
- Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, suppliers and contractors.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety and what it takes to deliver events safely and effectively.
- Good commercial awareness, with some experience of working with budgets and managing costs.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays in line with the event calendar.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across our London Hub venues.
