About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Sales Executive to join our Commercial team based at Cheltenham Racecourse. This is a key role in a growing area of the business focused on converting enquiries, account management, sourcing new business and achieving budgets across the Conference & Events portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities through targeted prospecting, networking and attendance at local and national exhibitions, trade shows and business events.
  • Build and nurture relationships to increase awareness of Cheltenham Racecourse as a leading venue for Conference & Events.
  • Maximise conversion rates by responding to inbound enquiries, preparing quotes, proposals, and contracts.
  • Host and participate in client meetings and site visits and represent Cheltenham racecourse at networking events to secure new business and strengthen relationships.
  • Manage a pipeline of opportunities and complete sales tasks ensuring all activity is tracked and reported in the sales booking system.
  • Work collaboratively with the regional and national sales teams to deliver revenue growth to cross sell opportunities and drive Conference & Events business locally and nationally.
  • Achieve individual and regional sales targets and KPIs in line with the overall Conference & Events Strategy.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the client journey and maintain strong product knowledge of venues with the Region to promote facilities and packages.
  • Work event days where required.

About you

  • Proven sales experience in a conference and events-based business.
  • Comfortable in a sales and target driven environment
  • Hungry for the ability to win and convert new customers.
  • Passionate about developing long‑term relationships with new and existing clients providing a premium service to grow accounts.
  • Outstanding communicator capable of influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Organised and process driven approach thriving in prioritising and meeting deadlines with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent team player
