We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with strong expertise in the Banking domain who will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role: Capgemini is seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect with deep expertise in Current Accounts specifically Packaged Paid for Accounts combined with strong experience delivering digital first customer journeys across large scale UK retail banking platforms. The ideal candidate will bring end to end channel architecture experience spanning onboarding eligibility benefit fulfilment charging servicing and account life cycle across both traditional core banking and modern digital ecosystems. The role demands strong domain knowledge, modern solution design capabilities, and hands-on collaboration with engineering, digital product, and platform teams in a multi-platform API driven environment.

  • Lead architecture and solution design for Current Account and Packaged Account journeys across mobile, online banking, assisted channels, and core platforms.
  • Shape digital experience flows ensuring consistent seamless journeys across web, mobile, branch, telephony, and third-party integrations.
  • Develop high level and low-level architecture artefacts aligned with Barclays enterprise digital security and cloud standards.
  • Drive adoption of API first event driven microservices based patterns across Packaged Account journeys.
  • Drive the modernisation of legacy account platforms into strategic cloud ready systems, reusable APIs, and real time event streams.
  • Lead decomposition of monolithic journeys into domain aligned microservices, reusable digital capabilities, and platform agnostic components.
  • Work closely with Digital Product Owners, UX teams, Business Analysts, Engineering Leads, and Platform SMEs to define functional and nonfunctional requirements for digital channels.
  • Provide architectural guidance during design and build phases ensuring strong alignment to digital target state architecture.
  • Partner with upstream and downstream systems including Payments, Digital Channels, Statements, Fraud Risk, Customer Communications, Benefits Providers, and API gateways.
  • Ensure digital journeys fully leverage strategic platforms like identity services, orchestration layers, customer data platforms, and event hubs.

Your Skills:

  • 10 years of overall banking technology experience with 6 years in architecture roles.
  • Strong expertise in the Current Account domain including Packaged Paid for Accounts, Benefits, Charging Rules, Monthly Fees, Eligibility Suitability Rules, Account Lifecycle Events, Overdrafts, Mandates, CASS Switching.
  • Experience working with UK Tier 1 retail banking platforms.
  • Strong experience delivering digital transformation across Mobile, Online Banking Channels, Digital Customer Onboarding, and Customer Servicing Platforms.
