The Job People are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer in Leamington Spa for full time, long term work. You will be required to work within one of our manufacturing sites, carrying out all aspects of maintenance and preventive tasks. You will be required to work rotation shifts to cover business needs, and on occasion, work one in every six on nights if required.
Main Duties of a Maintenance Engineer in Leamington Spa:
- Conduct all operations necessary to ensure the operational readiness and reliability of equipment.
- Carry out maintenance work (preventive and corrective), in line with the schedule and processes defined by the command line, respecting safety rules and working conditions.
- Ensure that equipment is well maintained and available for the production activity.
- Enter information on repairs conducted in the computer system and update machine files.
- Suggest improvements to resources to optimise safety conditions, quality, machine up time, and production costs.
- Communicate between shifts ensuring handovers are effective (written and digital).
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of maintenance department and working areas.
- Maintain site facilities including compressors, boilers, chillers, fire systems, lighting, and general building status.
- May be involved in the acceptance phase of new equipment or take part in development, as well as machine/process moves.
Shift & Pay Information:
- £20.54 per hour.
- Overtime paid after 39 hours.
- Long‑term work.
- Rotation shifts: one week AM, one week PM, and every 6 weeks you may be required to work a week of nights.
- Additional hours available on a Saturday and Sunday when required for business needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Time served apprenticeship in engineering function (Desirable).
- Experience carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks (Essential).
- Analytical approach with sound problem‑solving ability (Essential).
- Previous experience carrying out preventative maintenance tasks (Essential).
- Ability to read and understand both electrical and mechanical drawings (Essential).
- Strong attention to detail to ensure maintenance repairs are carried out to high standards.
- Excellent communicator and strong communication skills (Essential).
- Calm and resilient under pressure (Essential).
- Knowledge of carrying out maintenance on robots (Essential).
- Knowledge of PLCs (Desirable).
- Competent with the use of IT (Essential).

- Meticulous, proactive, able to work independently and take the initiative, receptive, communication skills, keen to acquire new professional skills, and develop within their career.
