The Job People are looking to recruit a dedicated and reliable Night Machine Operator 's to join a busy Melting Department on a permanent night shift.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Machine Operator or someone with a manufacturing background looking to develop their skills within a well-established engineering business.

Responsibilities of an Night Machine Operator

  • Charge furnaces with scrap metal and raw materials for melting.
  • Monitor and maintain molten metal at the required temperatures.
  • Take metal samples and carry out temperature checks as required.
  • Remove impurities through slagging operations.
  • Pour molten metal accurately into treatment ladles.
  • Assist with crane operations and material handling when required.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and preparation of equipment for the next shift.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and follow all health and safety procedures.

Experience of an Night Machine Operator

  • Previous experience as a Machine Operator in manufacturing, foundry, engineering, recycling, or heavy industry.
  • Experience operating machinery within a production environment.
  • Overhead crane experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
