To provide a good service to all members including Front Desk Support, fitness training, member induction support and motivation to members of a Sikh faith-based gym, while upholding the values, cultural sensitivity, and community spirit rooted in Sikh principles.,

  • Conduct fitness assessments and design personalised workout programs.
  • Deliver one-on-one and small-group training sessions.
  • Promote safe, effective exercise aligned with clients\' goals and health needs.
  • Maintain respectful and inclusive interactions, honouring Sikh values such as seva (selfless service), equality, and humility.
  • Educate members on fitness, nutrition basics, and holistic wellness.
  • Encourage community-based health initiatives in line with Sikh values (e.g. fitness seva, group challenges).
  • Respect faith-based sensitivities (e.g. dress codes, modesty, gender-specific preferences in training if applicable).
  • Support a clean, welcoming, and spiritually-conscious gym environment.
  • Keep certifications, CPR/first-aid training, and fitness knowledge up to date.
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards at all times.

Certifications:

  • Certified Personal Trainer (e.g. REPS, NASM, ACE, or equivalent)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • 1+ year experience in personal training (or relevant field experience)

Desirable Skills & Attributes:

  • Respect and understanding of Sikh beliefs, traditions, and values
  • Ability to train clients from diverse age groups and fitness levels
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in a gender-sensitive environment (may include same-gender training only, if culturally required)
  • Bilingual (e.g. English and Punjabi) is a plus
  • Enthusiastic, approachable, and community-minded
  • Prior experience working in faith-based or community gyms is a bonus
