We are supporting a leading financial services organisation on the hire of a Technical Business Analyst / Python Specialist to join a high-profile Global Markets technology and risk programme. This role sits at the intersection of Business Analysis, Development, and Production Support, working closely with Front Office, Risk, Quant, and Technology teams to deliver enhancements across critical Risk and PnL platforms. You will have strong experience within Global Markets, ideally across FICC products, and be comfortable navigating complex trading, risk, and data environments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements across Risk and Trading platforms
  • Work closely with developers, quants, and risk managers to support delivery of system enhancements and workflow improvements
  • Develop and maintain Python-based solutions, scripts, and data analysis tools
  • Support production issues, investigate data discrepancies, and troubleshoot workflow or platform-related problems
  • Assist with VaR, PnL, sensitivities, and risk reporting processes across Market Risk systems
  • Work across large datasets, reconciliations, controls, and data validation activities
  • Participate in Agile delivery processes including sprint planning, testing, UAT, and stakeholder workshops
  • Liaise with Front Office, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure smooth platform delivery and operational stability

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong Global Markets experience, ideally within FICC environments
  • Experience working on Risk, VaR, PnL, or Market Risk platforms
  • Strong Python development and scripting capabilities
  • Ability to operate across Business Analysis, Development, and Production Support functions
  • Experience with data analysis, troubleshooting reconciliations, and workflow optimisation
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working within Investment Banking or Capital Markets environments
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
