Primary Purpose of Job: Build community partnerships and engagement to enable the charity to achieve its mission. Grow the online presence of the JHF, increasing awareness and engagement with the charitable aims. Develop and implement a new fundraising strategy and approach that diversifies our income streams.
Reporting to: CEO
Contract: Employed – Temporary contract for 1 year, with a possible extension (depending on funding)
Hours: Part time: Approximately 26 - 30 hours per week with some flexibility around spread of hours across the week. The position could suit a job sharing arrangement.
Location: Clevedon office with some flexibility to work from home.
Start date: As soon as possible

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement an effective partnership and community engagement strategy to enhance the reputation of the JHF and deliver our mission for young people in North Somerset.
- Establish and grow impactful partnerships with individuals, organisations, networks and community groups across North Somerset that drive the organisation forward and establish mutually beneficial relationships in line with the charity's aims and ambitions.
- Maintain detailed knowledge and understanding of the needs of our region and the issues that affect young people ensuring that our service remains relevant and forward thinking.
- Support the JHF's engagement with our regional and local community, contributing to presentations, workshops and events, including some out of hours activities.
- Design and deliver creative opportunities that give a voice to the young people that we serve.
- Work with the Programme Lead to ensure that the impact of our programmes is widely communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop our social media strategy, working with the CEO to set ambitious targets to increase brand recognition and engagement with the charity.
- Manage JHF social media channels and website, leading the creation of engaging content which promotes the vision, mission, and values of the JHF and generates connections with relevant organisations and individuals.
- Monitor the performance of social media campaigns enhancing and amending the JHF's use of social media in response to findings.
- Engage in regular media/communications training to ensure the JHF is up to date with current developments.
- Develop and implement the JHF Fundraising Strategy, reporting to and collaborating with the CEO to ensure this remains responsive to the charity's aims and ambitions.
- Work with the Finance & Operational Lead to scope and develop systems to grow our fundraising potential including the development of a donor database.
- Work with the Programme Lead to identify services and projects that could be suitable for funding applications.
- Research and write grant applications to charitable trusts and foundations.
- Support the monitoring of successful funding applications and create impact reports to demonstrate outcomes.
- Evidence impact through the writing of compelling case studies for internal and external use.
- Support the work of the JHF Fundraising committee with the organisation of events to increase donations and engagement.
- Implement effective campaigns and activity that increase corporate fundraising opportunities.
- Manage relationships with donors ensuring that gifts are acknowledged and donors kept informed and involved.
General responsibilities:
- Represent the JHF to the highest possible standard at appropriate events and meetings with varied external stakeholders.
- Support effective risk management in relation to community engagement and fundraising.
- Promote and encourage the participation and empowerment of young people.
- Undertake other relevant duties within the scope of the role when required.
Ability to powerfully and effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders. Exceptional writing skills for creating compelling grant applications, reports, and social media content. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies, including writing grant applications and managing donor relationships. Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines. Excellent IT Skills – proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and databases. Ability to maintain a positive outlook and a resilient attitude when facing challenges. Self-driven and motivated by the JHF objectives. Right to live and work within the UK. Familiarity with developing and managing donor databases to grow fundraising potential. Experience in managing social media channels and websites creating engaging content to increase brand recognition and engagement. Experience in organising events to increase donations and engagement. The ability to think creatively and develop innovative approaches to community engagement and fundraising. Experience of using Canva design tool. Enhanced DBS Certificate on the update service.
