WHAT YOU’RE HERE TO DO:

Are you a passionate and proactive experienced Interior Designer ready to make a global impact? We are looking for a talented individual to assist the Head of Design Developments in leading exciting conceptual projects, developing new brands, and redeveloping existing ones within our growing international restaurant portfolio. As a key member of The Design Studio, you will be integral to ensuring brand integrity and excellence across all our Food & Beverage (F&B) concepts, including Jamie’s Italian, Jamie Oliver Kitchen, and our Deli, Pizzeria, and Diner brands.

You will manage multiple international F&B projects, support local design teams, and work collaboratively with our F&B, Business Development, and Operations teams to grow and evolve our brands. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting one-off projects and brand development in the UK and abroad, requiring a willingness to travel to deliver and sign-off projects. You will directly report to the Head of Design Developments and may have the potential to line-manage and mentor Junior and Mid-Weight Designers.

Your role will involve extensive collaboration with other Design Studio designers and internal teams across Operations, Food Development, Marketing, and Business Development, in addition to the JO Group Creative team. You will also be a key liaison with external project teams and franchise partners. This is an initial 6 month contract with the potential for this to be extended and move to permanent.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing and managing the workflow and development of other team members.
  • Programming the studio’s workflow and ensuring the projects pipeline is fulfilled.
  • Assisting in managing project budgets with the senior management team.
  • Managing relationships with key clients and franchise partners.
  • Upholding and implementing office, brand, and studio standards.
  • Encouraging a culture of creativity and conceptual exploration within the team.
  • Assisting in the conceptual and strategic development of new and existing restaurant brands.
  • Preparing feasibility layouts, conceptual development, and Design Intent Drawing Packages.
  • Leading FF&E research, material sourcing, and preparation of schedules.
  • Taking responsibility for all aspects of job running and management of your workload.
  • Reviewing and critiquing concept and design drawing packs produced by external teams.
  • Producing hand-drawn sketches and presentations for design exploration and business development.

What you need to know:

  • A degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • A high level of experience in F&B / Hospitality Design.
  • Strong CAD skills (ideally AutoCAD).
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Excellent construction knowledge and technical drawing skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong freehand sketching ability to quickly communicate ideas.
  • Keen to travel, almost anywhere in the world.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

How you’ll do it:

  • Be passionate about cutting-edge F&B / Hospitality Design, with a broad range of skills to communicate and bring your ideas to life.
  • Possess a proactive attitude and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and constantly evolving creative company.
  • Be a great team player with the confidence and ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, external project teams, operators, and chefs.
  • Be able to work autonomously when needed, with minimal instruction.
  • Be organised, methodical, and work in a structured manner.
