Copywriter and Editor, Restaurants (Maternity Cover)

During this 10-month fixed-term contract, you’ll support our international franchise restaurant partners and our UK sites with all their copy needs. You’ll maintain and develop our tone of voice, writing and editing across print and digital media, including menus, mailers, website copy, campaign assets, B2B materials, and training documents.
This role is a fixed-term maternity cover starting in July/August 2025.
About the Role
- Deliver all copy requirements for restaurant teams, including dish names, marketing materials, press releases, scripts, packaging, internal documents, and publications.
- Ensure all content aligns with briefs, brand standards, and company goals.
- Maintain consistency in tone of voice across all brands and content.
- Write and edit external and internal communications for UK and global audiences.
- Update and develop tone of voice guidelines, and support team members and freelancers in content creation.
- Assist in creating new restaurant concepts and supporting editorial needs.
- Manage menu creation, working with chefs and designers, reviewing recipes, editing documents, and markup for design files.
- Build strong relationships with marketing, operations, chefs, PR, and management teams.
- Collaborate on briefs with marketing and design teams, ensuring clarity and completeness.
- Review and provide feedback on scripts and video content.
- Oversee freelance support as needed.
- Contribute to brand concept packs, tenders, and presentations for new partnerships.
- Incorporate business and cultural considerations into all restaurant collateral.
What you\'ll need to be successful
- Experience in editorial work is essential.
- Creative writing skills with a portfolio demonstrating versatility across mediums and formats.
