The Jamie Oliver Cookery School is all about unleashing your inner chef. Whether you’re visiting one of our two London schools or joining us online, you’ll experience new and exciting cuisines, learn expert techniques and leave with some fantastic memories. Alongside our cookery school, our Cafe offers baked treats from Hoxton Bakehouse and Dusty Knuckle, coffee from NewGround, plus housemade focaccia sandwiches, vibrant salads and soups. Not to mention a host of delicious snacks and drinks. This is proper food on the move. That means all you have to do is turn up, settle in and rest assured that you’re in good hands.
We are now recruiting for a Cafe Manager to manage and operate Cafe Jamie Oliver on a day to day basis. Working closely with the General Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering KPIs, leading and motivating the cafe team and overseeing compliance. In addition to that you will welcome guests in the cafe and the cookery school and be versed in the coffee and food offerings and cookery classes experience. The Cafe Manager needs to be a people person with a big smile and an even bigger wealth of knowledge about the specialty coffee, food menu, drinks list, and Jamie Oliver Cookery School as a whole.
WHAT YOU’RE HERE TO DO
- Supervise baristas, their espresso making and milk texturing skills, and assist with training and development.
- Maintain stock levels for the cafe when on shift and work closely with the General Manager to manage stock accounting.
- You will understand the importance of, and pride yourself on, keeping the back of house and front of house areas clean and organised.
- Be present on the floor at the Cafe and Cookery School and ensure management presents at all times.
- Be versatile in Jamie Oliver Cafe and Cookery School's offerings and experience and pass this knowledge to the team and guests.
- Work closely with all other departments within the cafe and cookery school teams.
WHAT A CAFE MANAGER NEEDS TO KNOW
- You have experience leading and managing a team in a similar cafe or coffee shop environment.
- You need to be ambitious and have a desire to grow with the business.
- You’ll have fantastic attention to detail and relish the challenge of working quickly and efficiently under pressure while maintaining sky-high standards of presentation and Health and Safety.
- You need to have a hands-on approach and the ambition to develop and learn.
- You are a team player who leads from the front and a genuine brand ambassador for the Cafe, Cookery School and all things Jamie Oliver.
