We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Analytical Chemist to join our GMP laboratory, specialising in lipid-based drug products and medicinal cannabis. This is an exciting opportunity for a subject matter expert in advanced mass spectrometry and complex analytical method development to play a key role in expanding and strengthening our analytical capability.

You will contribute to technical strategy, lead validation programmes, and take ownership of advanced analytical platforms within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

The Role

You will lead method development, optimisation and validation (ICH Q2(R2)), working with complex matrices including oils and botanical extracts. The role includes significant hands-on work with:

  • LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS (Triple Quadrupole)
  • High-resolution mass spectrometry
  • ICP-MS (ICH Q3D elemental impurities)
  • UHPLC / HPLC / GC-MS

You will also:

  • Troubleshoot complex matrices including lipids and botanical extracts
  • Lead instrument qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and lifecycle management
  • Support computer system validation (CSV) for analytical software platforms
  • Act as technical lead for mass spectrometry capability within the laboratory
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions and audit readiness

This position offers strong technical autonomy and the opportunity to influence analytical strategy within a growing GMP environment.

What We’re Looking For
  • MSc/PhD in Analytical Chemistry (or BSc with substantial GMP experience)
  • Strong GMP laboratory experience
  • Proven experience in LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS method development and troubleshooting
  • Experience with ICP-MS
  • Strong understanding of ICH Q2(R2), EU GMP and data integrity (ALCOA+)
  • Experience using analytical software such as Lab Solutions, MassHunter, Xcalibur, Empower or Chromeleon
  • Confidence working with complex matrices (lipids, botanical extracts, oils)
