Job Details
The job. Let's be honest it's no secret that times are tough in general practice with the workforce crisis and the contract impositions, sometimes it can feel like you are being attacked from all angles with everyone wanting a piece of you. Workload is definitely up! At Ivy Grove Surgery we recognise this pressure. Unlike the NHS, NHSE or the government, our ethos is to protect our staff, which we recognise, is the greatest asset in any organisation. We aim to support each other through regular peer meetings, from meet-ups for lunch to chat and discuss cases to our induction and mentoring for new GPs. Support for the more challenging aspects of our work takes the form of bereavement meetings, complaint debrief and support meetings plus the advice and support of the team. Innovation is key to our ethos; we should not be duplicating or completing work that would be more suitable for another member of our practice team. Our resident IT wizard, the notable Dr Wong, has streamlined our processes with integrated templates, easy QOF reminders and merged referral forms to name but a few. All of this cuts down the amount of admin our GPs have to do! We have also developed many innovative processes that are shared with practices all over the country. Our bespoke website ivy.gs should give you a feel of what our practice is all about. Like any other employer we expect our employees and partners to work hard but we pride ourselves on our fair and compassionate approach. Our management team is supportive and caring; they are there when you need them the most. They can guide you through practice processes when first starting, give advice on complaint handling, help you network in our locality. Regular team building and training events are held to support all grades of staff. As a salaried doctor, your routine surgeries are controlled with no extras added to the end of your list. If partaking in the duty doctor rota, workload remains controlled. The enhanced access and same-day hub operates from the building. This gives the opportunity for any Amber Valley based GP to work in the hub. We are very happy to accommodate informal visits to the surgery, just speak to Vicki, our Practice Manager. We look forward to meeting you!
