Ivy Medical Group is looking for an experienced, resilient and motivated Practice Manager to provide senior operational leadership across our GP practice. This is a full-time, permanent role working closely with the GP Principal and wider team to ensure the smooth, safe and effective running of the organisation. Salary will be dependent on experience, with a planned start date of 1 September 2026.

The role offers the opportunity to lead a committed multidisciplinary team, support high-quality patient care, strengthen business and financial processes, and help shape the future development of a CQC-rated Good practice. You will join a supportive, forward-thinking practice with a strong team ethos, digital-first ways of working and a published total-triage improvement story.

This is a key leadership role for someone who combines sound judgement, excellent communication and a practical, solution-focused approach, and wants to make a visible difference to staff, patients and the long-term resilience of the practice.

The Practice Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the practice, ensuring services are well organised, safe, responsive and financially sustainable. Key duties include:

  • Managing and supporting staff
  • Coordinating rotas and workforce planning
  • Overseeing recruitment and induction
  • Supporting appraisal and performance processes
  • Helping maintain a positive working environment

The postholder will manage core business functions including finance, payroll-related processes, HR administration, premises, health and safety, IT, information governance, policies and procedures, complaints, patient engagement and regulatory compliance. They will work with the GP Principal and clinical team to support QOF, contractual requirements, CQC readiness, service improvement and practice development.

The role also involves liaison with the PCN, ICB, NHS England, suppliers and other external stakeholders, and contributing to strategic planning and change management across the organisation.
