The Sous Chef will work alongside line chefs to ensure each dish meets our high standards. This role is a leadership position but remains hands-on, ideal for someone who loves cooking and wants to develop their leadership skills. With a large kitchen team, you can focus on specific aspects of the role: when on your section, concentrate on food quality and training; when on Pass, lead the team through excellent service.
Responsibilities:- Ensure correct prep levels by our dedicated prep team.
- Manage deliveries and stock with the Goods Receiver.
- Oversee completion of cleaning rotas.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain consistency and excellence.
- Assist in performance management of kitchen personnel.
- Support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in fostering a positive work environment.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills with a passion for quality and creativity.
- Leadership skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Experience working with a large kitchen team.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety, and culinary techniques.
- Understanding of GP and stock control.
- Ability to organize and oversee multiple checks simultaneously.
