The Italian Greyhound has been a Marylebone fixture for ten years. Its a neighbourhood bar and dining room with a lot going on: Aperitivo hour, a busy lunch trade, long evenings, private dining in the Garden Room, and a terrace that fills up the moment the sun appears. The crowd is as varied as the city: regulars who know the team by name, corporates booking the private room, visitors ticking off a London recommendation, and people who just walked in on a whim. We're also part of something bigger: a family of independent London venues, including Boxcar's bakeries and cafes and Open House London's The Broadcaster and The Lighterman. Joining The Italian Greyhound means real opportunity to have fun within a group that's going places. The food is modern Italian. The service should feel the same; Confident, warm, and a little effortless. Not stiff, not casual. We care a lot about the experience we create, and this hire is central to raising it. THE ROLE This is a Floor Manager position, but it's also a genuine development opportunity for the right person. As Floor Manager, you'll be a key figure in our front-of-house team: visible during service, close to guests, and building the confidence and capability of the people around you. We want someone who makes the whole floor better simply by being on it. That means reading a service, spotting where someone needs a steer, and giving it in the moment, without fuss. You're not above getting stuck in when the floor needs it, and you wouldn't want to be. It also means bringing ideas, noticing what isn't working, and saying so. You'll work closely with the senior management team and have a real say in how service evolves here. For the right person, this Floor Manager role is one you can properly grow into. WHAT YOULL BE DOING Leading the floor through service; Setting the pace, maintaining the standard, and keeping your team focused and confident. Running briefings that actually land; Clear, motivating, and relevant to the shift ahead. Coaching team members in real time; Noticing what needs improving and addressing it in a way that builds people up rather than knocks them down. Building genuine relationships with our regulars and guests, especially in the main dining room and private events through the Garden Room. Supporting the planning and execution of private dining and events, from corporate dinners to celebrations. Feeding back to the management team on whats working, what isnt, and what could be better; We want to hear it. WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR Someone who is genuinely drawn to hospitality; The guest experience matters to you, not just the operation. Experience in a management role within a quality restaurant or bar environment. Youve held responsibility for a floor and a team before. A natural communicator who can adapt their approach; Whether thats a quiet word with a team member mid-service or handling a guest complaint with composure. The kind of leader who makes people better. Coaching and developing others is something you find energising, not draining. Composure under pressure and good instincts when a service needs redirecting. Ambition. You're hungry to develop and be part of a team with the same mindset; that's exactly who this Floor Manager role is for. WHATS IN IT FOR YOU Real exposure across an independent group; The Italian Greyhound is part of a wider portfolio of restaurants and bars, and theres opportunity to grow with it. Dining discounts across all our venues. Team incentives and trips; We celebrate properly when things go well. Staff meals and refreshments on shift. Early access to earned wages via Stream. Holiday growth - add one extra day to your allowance per year of service up to a maximum of 5. TPBN1_UKCT
