Job summary
The Gynaecology Collaborative, as part of the IGPF, was launched on 1st October 2020. It is a collaboration of multiple providers joining up primary, secondary, and community care.
The post holder will work under clinical supervision, supporting the Gynaecology service GPs and Consultants in community-based clinics. The primary function is to assist the clinicians in the delivery of safe and efficient care to the patients.
The role involves assisting clinicians managing clinical sites, alongside administrative tasks that support patient care and the smooth running of clinics.

- Act as a chaperone when required.
- Assist clinicians during procedures, ensuring that the appropriate equipment is readily available and room is prepared.
- Act as an infection control assistant by supporting clinicians during clinic sessions, ensuring that rooms and any areas accessed by patients are sanitised after each use, and that equipment is cleaned to prevent contamination.
- Be responsible for daily, quarterly and yearly IPC checks at clinical sites.
- Assist with the labelling, recording and dispatching of specimens and samples taken during clinic.
- Assist with safety-netting searches to track laboratory results and ensure they are received promptly to prevent delays in patient care.
- Action follow-up instructions in line with GP consultation notes, including discharge letters, secondary care referrals, follow-up appointments and chasing the receipt of investigation results.
- Undertake a wide range of administrative duties, ensuring that all information is managed correctly, filed appropriately and followed up as required.
