Salary: £34,258 – £40,882 per annum

We\’re now looking for an exceptional and dynamic Safeguarding Manager (Designated Teacher) to lead our Safeguarding Officers and champion a culture of safeguarding excellence across the college.

This is a pivotal and highly influential role for an experienced safeguarding professional who thrives on making a real difference to young people\’s lives.

About the RoleAs Safeguarding Manager , you\’ll provide visible, confident leadership to our Safeguarding Officer team — setting clear expectations, offering high-quality case supervision, and nurturing a culture of continuous professional development.

You\’ll hold a defined caseload for vulnerable student groups , ensuring:

Timely and proportionate risk assessments

Robust safety planning

High-quality, accurate record-keeping

Effective multi-agency collaboration

With your expert knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) , you\’ll translate statutory guidance into high-impact operational practice that keeps students safe and supported.

Driving Data-Led SafeguardingYou\’ll champion a data-informed safeguarding approach , analysing safeguarding, attendance, and behaviour trends to:

Identify emerging risks

Target early and effective interventions

Measure impact and drive continuous improvement

You\’ll also produce clear, insightful reports for senior leaders and governors , supporting strategic decision-making and organisational learning.

Leadership & Whole-College ImpactIn the absence of the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) , you\’ll step up with confidence — ensuring continuity of decisions, oversight of complex cases, and timely escalation where required.

A key part of your role will be to lead and quality-assure safeguarding training across the college, including:

Staff induction and refresher training

Briefings and updates

Promoting safer working practices

Encouraging professional curiosity

Embedding consistent reporting of low-level concerns

You\’ll influence teams across the college, fostering a culture of vigilance, accountability, and shared responsibility.
