Salary: Up to £35,619 per annum dependent on experience

Hours: 39 hours per week (reduce to 37 hours per week from 1st August 2026 with no change in salary)

Join our growing team. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineering professional to join our team on the Isle of Wight. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who is looking for a rewarding career change and wants to inspire the next generation of engineers and skilled professionals. No previous teaching experience is required. We welcome applications from individuals currently working within industry who can bring real‑world experience, practical skills and technical expertise into the classroom and workshop environment. Full training and support towards achieving teaching qualifications can be provided.

About the role: As part of our Engineering team, you will support and deliver engaging learning experiences to students across Mechanical Engineering programmes, helping them develop the practical and technical skills required for successful careers in industry. The successful candidate will use their knowledge and experience to bridge the gap between education and industry, creating an engaging and hands‑on learning environment.

We are looking for applicants with knowledge and experience in a range of areas, including:

  • Mechanical engineering principles and practices
  • Manufacturing processes and engineering techniques
  • Mechanical maintenance and fault finding
  • Engineering drawings and interpretation
  • Workshop practices and the use of engineering equipment
  • Health and safety within an engineering environment
  • CAD/CAM or engineering design experience (desirable)
  • General practical and technical skills across engineering disciplines
