About You:

You are a highly skilled Senior Frontend Engineer who thrives on turning complex ideas into elegant, performant, and intuitive user experiences. You bring a deep understanding of modern frontend engineering and a passion for building clean, scalable, and maintainable interfaces particularly in data‐rich or real‐time environments.

You're comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor: someone who takes ownership, brings clarity to ambiguity, and elevates engineering standards through your work and collaboration. You enjoy partnering closely with designers, backend engineers, and machine learning specialists, and you're confident communicating technical decisions to both technical and non‐technical audiences.

You have strong experience delivering high‐quality web applications end‐to‐end, and you're excited by the opportunity to help define the tooling, frameworks, and best practices of a growing frontend function. You take pride in writing excellent code, but equally value documentation, knowledge sharing, accessibility, and thoughtful UI/UX.

You stay curious, keep up with modern frameworks and trends, and are enthusiastic about contributing to projects that involve innovation, whether that's real‐time interfaces, desktop/PWA builds, visualising complex graph structures, or integrating with AI‐driven capabilities.

Most importantly, you're motivated by impact. You want to help shape how a new engineering team works, influence the frontend direction across multiple products, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high‐quality delivery.

About The Team:

You'll be joining a small but growing Frontend Engineering team within our wider Software Development and AI function. We're a collaborative, cross‐functional group made up of frontend engineers, backend developers, machine learning specialists, UX designers, and QA working closely together to build intelligent, data‐driven products that solve real‐world challenges.

As part of this team, you'll play a key role in shaping how we deliver modern UI experiences across multiple platforms, including web, desktop, PWAs, and browser extensions. Our work spans a range of exciting problem spaces, from real‐time messaging and complex visualisation layers to integrations with LLMs, computer vision, and advanced data pipelines.

We value engineering excellence, transparency, and continuous improvement. Everyone contributes to decision‐making, standards, and ways of working, whether that's defining our component library, improving build processes, influencing architectural choices, or helping grow the frontend discipline.

If you're looking for a team where your ideas matter, where you can make a visible impact on products and engineering culture, and where you get to collaborate with talented people across multiple domains, you'll feel right at home here.

About The Role:

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimising high‐quality user interfaces across our suite of data‐driven applications. You'll work closely with designers, backend engineers, and machine learning teams to create seamless, performant, and visually compelling experiences. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex UI challenges, influencing engineering standards, and helping shape the future of our frontend capability as we scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain modern, performance‐focused frontend applications across web and desktop platforms.
  • Develop and optimise reusable UI component libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency across products.
  • Translate UX wireframes, prototypes, and design concepts into high‐quality, accessible user interfaces.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs, manage data flows, and ensure a seamless end‐to‐end experience.
  • Establish and champion best practices in coding standards, architecture, documentation, and frontend processes.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Implement testing strategies using tools such as Jest, Cypress, or Playwright to support robust, reliable releases.
  • Ensure interfaces are accessible and meet WCAG standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex UI issues, including performance bottlenecks, browser inconsistencies, and rendering challenges.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting new tools, frameworks, and approaches to enhance developer experience and product quality.
  • Work on innovative projects involving real‐time updates, visualisation of complex data structures, and interactions with AI/ML features.

Success in This Role Looks Like:

  • High‐quality, scalable frontend applications delivered consistently, with clean architecture, reusable components, and strong performance across browsers and devices.
  • A noticeable uplift in UI/UX standards, with improved consistency, accessibility, and user satisfaction across our products.
  • A more mature frontend engineering practice, where you contribute to establishing clearer patterns, tooling, documentation, and ways of working for the team.
  • Effective collaboration with designers, backend engineers, and ML teams, helping turn complex ideas and data into intuitive, user‐friendly experiences.
  • Reduced bugs, faster delivery cycles, and improved reliability through thoughtful testing strategies, automation, and proactive technical decision‐making.
  • Clear ownership and accountability, taking responsibility for end‐to‐end delivery of features, ensuring quality at each stage.
  • Meaningful impact on product direction, providing input on architecture, UI strategy, component libraries, and future technical choices.
  • Positive influence within the team, mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and helping build a supportive, high‐performing engineering culture.
  • A proactive approach to innovation, introducing modern techniques, tools, or ideas that elevate the user experience and developer experience.
  • Visible contributions to shaping the future of the frontend function, particularly as the team grows and expands into new technologies such as PWAs, desktop apps, and browser extensions.

Why Join Us?
