Hours: Full-Time 35 hours per week

Salary: £33,755 starting salary p/a plus excellent benefits package

Do you enjoy undertaking and supporting secretarial functions, maintaining policies and records, and assisting with governance requirements? This role is a great opportunity to play a valued support role within the organisation. IStructE is a charity and the professional body for structural engineers. We have a global membership who have designed many of the world’s iconic structures as well as many of the buildings and bridges we take almost for granted in our daily lives. Creating safer structures for the benefit of the public is at the heart of our remit and this includes environmental sustainability with structural engineers and the Institution at the heart of the impact construction has on natural resources and climate change. We are passionate about inclusion and work hard to help those with talent, irrespective of background, to find and develop a route into the profession. Many of our members work to support the world’s most vulnerable communities, especially those living in places prone to natural hazards such as earthquakes and extreme flooding. The Role

This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Governance and Projects Executive to join our friendly CEO Office team. This role provides administrative support across governance and secretarial functions, including meeting coordination, policy and document management, and record keeping. The position also provides support to the Institution’s President, contributing to the smooth and effective operation of the organisation. You will assist with tracking and monitoring policies, contracts and MOUs. You will support the Institution’s Governance review, alongside supporting the PMO (project management office) documentation and administration. This position is an interesting and highly varied role that is perfect for someone with high attention to detail, strong communication and organisation skills, and who has governance experience.

To be shortlisted for this post, you must have:

  • Effective planning, analytical and organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise efficiently with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of providing administrative support to a governance function
  • Experience working with or within a non-profit or membership organisation and a governance or PMO team would be advantageous.

Working Conditions:

We are based on the edge of the city, our office is bright, modern and open plan. We are an inclusive and friendly workforce. We operate a hybrid working model, and this role requires a minimum of 2 days of attendance in the office.
